San Francisco Night Market: A Fundraiser for La Cocina

On August 16, 2013, La Cocina hosted its 2nd Annual Night Market. We asked everyone to bring their “Bay”-Game, and without hesitation, you did. We saw some mighty battles in corn hole, some intense moves on the dance floor, the most inspired renditions of Whitney Houston we’ve ever seen, and a lot of happy eating in all 6 regions.

There were a lot of standout moments beneath Alemany Market’s stalls that evening, but we know it’ll be a long time before we forget Alexander Ong challenging the folks from M.Y. China to a noodle-pulling dance-off, or the four whole hogs that were completely devoured in the American South region, to Traci des Jardinsservice with a smile in the América Latina section. Move over, Caleb Zigas (winner of 7x7s Best Waiter), there’s a new contender in town.

For those of you came, thank you for being a part of La Cocina’s 2nd Annual Night Market and fundraiser. La Cocina and our entrepreneurs thank each and everyone of you for your support and for making one very chilly night actually feel quite warm.

Catch your photos from the Snapfiesta photo booth that night! You can also see the full lineup of vendors and info for the 2013 event.

The night market will be at Alemany Farmer’s Market from 6:00-10:00pm at 100 Alemany Blvd, Bernal Heights, San Francisco, CA 94112.

How to get there

La Cocina will provide a free (yes, free!) round-trip ride from the 24th Street BART station to the Night Market. Be sure to register for your shuttle in advance when you purchase your ticket! All shuttles will be departing from Mission Pie at the corner of 25th St and Mission St.
